Joint Ventures in Real Estate: Operations and Tax—OSB CLE Quick Call
Brought to you in partnership with Webcredenza, a professional education broadcast network

1 General CLE credit

After years of widespread turmoil, real estate finance is increasingly shifting toward the use of complex joint ventures that marry partners with capital, property, and development expertise. The structure of these deals is far more complex than when an individual developer seeks a bank loan for a project, but with careful structure and documentation, they can successfully leverage everyone’s strengths for a profitable venture. This program provides you with a practical framework for negotiating, structuring, and documenting real estate joint ventures, including major economic, operational, and tax considerations.

Day 1—September 21, 2010—Structure and Finance

  • Structural considerations with financial versus development partner
  • Cash flow versus develop/sell/refinance deals
  • Capital structure issues—debt, equity, property, and service contributions
  • Dealer compensation techniques
  • Multi-property deals
  • Quasi–joint ventures
