The code books state the law, but what do the words mean in terms of real life? This year’s annual juvenile law seminar will provide a juvenile dependency appellate update and take a look at legal ethics that arise when representing minors. Special guest presenter Judge William A. Thorne, Jr., Utah Court of Appeals, will provide an in-depth look at the ICWA, including the Act’s history and purpose, how and why ICWA is different from current practice, and going beyond simple compliance with best practices.

Cosponsored by the Juvenile Law Section.
